Hello IECA Australasia Chapter Members,
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make the IECA Australasia Conference in Melbourne such an incredible success. Whether you were there in person or cheering us on from afar, you are part of something extraordinary - a chapter that continues to set the global standard for innovation, collaboration, and leadership in our field.
At this year's conference my remarks revolved around the theme, Reunited in Purpose: One IECA, One Future, to capture where we are as an association. Four years ago, we began the process of reuniting IECA's Regions One and Two - a vision that started with conversation and trust, and is now coming full circle.
In February 2026, we'll celebrate that reunification at the IECA Annual Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, marking the moment we officially become One IECA - a truly global organization connected under one banner. I encourage every member of the Australasia Chapter to join us for this historic milestone. It will be a celebration of our shared purpose, progress, and the people who made it possible.
Over the past year, IECA has experienced tremendous transformation:
-
A bold, modernized brand identity that reflects who we are today - innovative, credible, and united.
-
A new website and upgraded member database, designed to connect all members across regions in a single, streamlined ecosystem.
-
A fully redesigned Environmental Connections magazine launching in January - showcasing your projects, your leadership, and your impact in a refreshed print and online format.
These milestones represent more than organizational progress - they represent what's possible when we evolve together.
Our mission to protect the land and water that sustain life has always been global. Now, our structure and systems match that vision. Through reunification, we're building a community where an engineer in Brisbane can easily collaborate with a stormwater professional in Colorado or an environmental scientist in Auckland - all within one IECA network.
To all of you across Australia and New Zealand: thank you. You have been patient, visionary partners in this journey. Because of your leadership and commitment, IECA's next chapter is not just stronger - it's united, global, and unstoppable.
Let's continue this momentum together - and I hope to see you in Fort Worth in 2026 as we celebrate the beginning of One IECA.
With gratitude,
