  • to provide environmental educational opportunities through conferences, short courses, seminars and publications, at both a local and international level;
  • to be a service organisation for the erosion and sediment control industries;
  • to establish standards for erosion and sediment control materials and installation procedures; and
  • to provide technical expertise for people, organisations and governments seeking help in the fields of erosion control and soil conservation, and their influences on air, land and water qualities.

Our Chapter’s regular conferences and professional development courses address such diverse issues as erosion control, steep slope stabilization, soil bioengineering, resource management, product evaluations, landfill stabilization, sediment control, engineering design, low tech. erosion control, application of BMPs, habitat protection, alternative technologies, watershed management, professional certification, streambank stabilization, beach stabilization, stormwater management, wind erosion, dust control, regulations, gully stabilization, technology in developing countries, industry standards, research, vegetation selection, hydrology and hydraulics.
