Key Responsibilities
Directors help govern the Australasian Chapter of IECA through activities such as:
- Representing IECA members within the industry
- Promoting the Association and its mission
- Developing, evaluating, and planning Chapter programs
- Setting and delivering long-term goals and objectives
- Building relationships with related organisations, government agencies, and regulators
- Participating in Board discussions and decision-making
Time Commitment
Serving on the Board is a volunteer role and is designed to be manageable for busy professionals. Directors typically dedicate approximately one hour per week on average, in addition to attending online Board meetings and the annual conference, held in Australia or New Zealand. Reasonable expenses incurred while undertaking Board duties are reimbursed.
Current Priorities
The Board is currently focused on:
- Growing and strengthening our membership across Australia and New Zealand
- Increasing awareness and uptake of the Registered Soil Practitioner – Erosion and Sediment Control (RSP-ESC) certification
- Expanding education, professional development, and industry engagement opportunities
Board Composition
The Board consists of nine Directors, with three elected each year for a three-year term commencing at the Annual General Meeting in October. IECA seeks to maintain a balanced mix of professional backgrounds and industry perspectives to ensure broad representation of our membership.

- Janine Koppel (Government) – Term ending
