Hi Douglas, Thanks for using the forum - hopefully we will see more on it soon! Equation B28 is just Equation B27 with the velocity set to 0.015m/s. The 66.7 is (1/0.015). So if you use Equation B28, the velocity is set to a maximum of 0.015m/s. The equation you have rewritten will actually cancel out (you'll be left with 1/66.7 = 0.015m/s. The issue you might be having with veocoity is that the velocity in the calculations is not calculated at the settling depth, but at the floc depth. This floc depth in Option 2B may be lower than the settling depth and hence why other calculations you are getting don't seem to correlate. Does that help? Thanks Kyle

Thanks Kyle, Nice to see this is a good place for a technical question. And quick. I had tried to use equation B27 straight into my spreadsheet, hence the problem. Iâll continue to use the average (taking batters into account) width of DF to calculate velocity. I guess it follows that we would use DF not DS when checking upstream velocity when specifying the spillway width in a 2B basin also. Thanks for your input. Doug

Yep thanks I stole the idea from you.

You need to go to the Resources button at the top then open the IECA AUst Member Community Forum (last one on the list), click into the first group IECA Member Community. On the right hand side you will see leaders and members, you should be in the members section, click on self, this then goes to your profile, click on the box where your Avatar will go then load a pic, it needs to be square. Good luck. FYI when working on this yesterday we found a few annoying issues so are now working on those to get sorted before promoting to members.
