Sitting the CPESC Exam
The Fundamentals exam can be sat at a time and place to suit each candidate as long as the following conditions are met:
- Your CPESC application and payment has been lodged with IECA Australasia.
- A suitable person is engaged to supervise the candidate during the exam. A current CPESC, JP or equivalent would be considered a suitable person.
- Notify the IECA Australasia office the name and mailing details of the supervising person and the date you wish to sit the exam. The exam will be sent directly to the supervisor.
The Fundamentals exam consists of 80 multiple choice questions, 70 true/false answer questions and 4 calculation questions. It is a closed book exam. Calculators are needed. Candidates are allowed 3 hours to complete the exam.
Take Home Exercise
The Take Home Exercise is the preparation of a soil and water management plan for a fictitious site. There is the choice of an Urban or Roads development. The Take Home Exercise is completed after the Fundamentals exam has been passed. Candidates are allowed 3 months to complete the Take Home Exercise from the date it is sent.
